MSOL Information & Course Descriptions
**The MSOL will not be awarded without a completed undergraduate degree or OTD.**
Why should I get both degrees?
The OTD gives you the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to practice as an occupational therapist. To take on leadership roles, it’s important to understand leadership theories and best practices. The MSOL provides you with the tools to lead and manage people effectively, strengthen relationships, navigate organizational change, and foster ethical, human-centered practices. Unlike programs focused primarily on resources or technology, the MSOL emphasizes the human element in leadership.
Why don’t I just wait and get my MSOL later?
Completing the OTD/MSOL Dual Degree Program at Western New England saves you time and money. OTD/MSOL candidates save 40% in tuition for the MSOL. By following the structured plan of study, you will earn both of your degrees at the same time. The program design allows for 12 credits of your OTD coursework to count towards requirements in both programs.
Are the MSOL courses and OTD courses on the same schedule?
Yes, both the OTD courses and MSOL courses are offered during the same academic calendar - traditional, 15-week Fall and Spring Semesters, and an 8-week Summer Semester for OTD and a 12-week Summer Semester for the MSOL that coincides.
Great! When can I start taking courses?
You can start your first MSOL courses in the fall semester of your second year of the OTD.
What if I have additional questions?
